Platform notes
- Apple
- Follow these steps with touch controls on iPhone or iPad, or use focus and select controls with the Apple TV remote.
- Android
- Follow these steps with touch controls on a phone or tablet, or use the directional pad and select button on Google TV.
1
Validate the stream address
- 1Open Settings, Manage Sources, then edit the camera or live feed.
- 2Confirm that the complete RTSP, RTSPS, HLS, or HTTP video URL is entered.
- 3Reenter the username and password if the feed is protected.
- 4Use Validate and wait for a successful connection message before saving.
2
Change RTSP transport
Use Automatic or TCP when reliability matters. Try UDP only when lower latency is required and the camera, router, and network support it.
3
Fix pan, tilt, or zoom
- 1Confirm that the camera supports ONVIF controls and that they are enabled on the camera.
- 2Check the ONVIF port. Leave it blank to use the default port 80.
- 3Use the same credentials required by the camera control service.
- 4Enable Invert Pan Direction if horizontal movement is reversed.
4
Fix guide previews
- 1Turn on Show in Guide for the feed.
- 2Choose Snapshot when live preview uses too much processing or network capacity.
- 3Choose Live only when the feed remains reliable while visible in the guide.
Good to know: Live guide previews are muted and play only while visible or focused.
